Reading Museum
Community Museum since 1883, providing opportunities for learning, inspiration and enjoyment through our art, archaeology, history and natural history collections. A Reading Borough Council cultural service.
Explore our eleven hands-on galleries including Roman Silchester, changing exhibitions in the art gallery, Britain's Bayeux Tapestry and the world's only biscuit gallery, Huntley & Palmers. Enjoy our varied programme of events, activities and concerts for all the family. Reading is on the Great West Way touring route, so is an ideal base to explore all of its amazing attractions whether you’re travelling by bus, bike, car or train.
Admission is free, but we ask visitors for a suggested donation of £5 towards their visit. To control the number of people in the Museum and ensure that everyone is safe and comfortable, we have introduced a booking system.
