Join us for our annual Wolfenden Lecture, an in-conversation with Matthew Toresen
From Passion to Progress: Advocating for Equality
Born in Tripoli, Libya, in 1962, Matt dedicated their life to LGBT activism, starting as Chair of Reading University’s Gaysoc during the AIDS crisis. Over the decades, they have campaigned for equal rights, co-founded youth groups, and organized Pride events, earning an MBE in 2016 for Services to LGBT Equality. A passionate photographer since their teens, their work has highlighted LGBT history and activism, including the 2018 Northampton exhibition, Outlaws
